European Antibiotic Awareness Day marks the start of a week where the aim is to improve public and professional awareness of the need to use antibiotics responsibly (antibiotic stewardship) and educate people about the threat of antibiotic resistance to public health. The bottom line message is clear – we must use antibiotics wisely if we are to maintain their effectiveness for future generations.
